Couples Therapy & Integrative Therapy · Amsterdam & Online · Dutch and English
I work with individuals and couples who want to move forward—past whatever holds them back: whether that's a relationship that's stuck, a past that won't let go, or the feeling of not quite knowing who you are anymore.
Do you recognise this?
Sometimes you know something is wrong, but can't find the words. Sometimes you know exactly, but can't work it out together. And sometimes the argument you keep having isn't really about what it seems to be about. I work with individuals and couples on things like:

My approach
In our sessions, you—or the two of you—take centre stage. We figure out what's actually going on. Not just the questions that brought you in, but what's underneath it: an old loss, the patterns you keep falling into, the thing that never got to be said or was allowed to exist.
My approach is psychodynamic and client-centred. I draw from several traditions—among them Emotionally Focused Therapy, psychoanalysis and body-oriented work—and adjust to what serves you. Much of what I do involves trauma and breaking patterns that were passed down from generation to generation. I believe in depth and in healing, beyond 'mere' relief.
I don't work with individuals dealing with active addiction or couples dealing with structural domestic violence, nor do I work with children or adolescents.

About me
I guided leaders, teams and organisations for ten years. What I kept seeing was that the patterns people encounter at work rarely originate there. They originate at home—from the family you grew up in and the things you carry with you from the past. This insight, and the desire to go deeper, brought me to psychotherapy in 2023.
I am an integrative therapist (in training at the Educatieve Academie in Antwerp) and have a background in the social and behavioural sciences (BA Liberal Arts & Sciences, Amsterdam University College). Next to that, I specialised as a couples therapist at Praktijk de Liefde in Amsterdam and have spent the past ten years honing my knowledge of (Jungian) psychoanalysis.
I work in both Dutch and English, with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Having been raised in an international environment, I thoroughly enjoy working with expats. Many of the people I work with are neurodivergent, expats or internationals, creatives and/or entrepreneurs. I have particular experience working with the impact of sexual abuse. Please note: you don't need to fit any of these descriptions.
Professional associations
I am a member of the VIT (Vereniging Integratieve Therapeuten) and the VVTIV for quality assurance. For complaints and disputes you can contact the VIT complaints committee.
Supervision & Peer Consultation
Peer consultation with fellow therapists and supervision are a permanent part of my practice.

Rates & reimbursement
Individual therapy
€ 70 – 120
per 60 minutes, excl. VAT
Couples therapy
€ 120 – 160
per 60 minutes, excl. VAT
I believe it is important that therapy is accessible. That is why I work with a sliding scale. Within the above range, you choose your own rate. I ask those with a higher income to contribute more, so that people with a lower income can pay less. This also allows me to take on individuals whose income is too low to afford therapy. At the start of our engagement, you let me know which rate you would like to work with.
Sessions can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours in advance. Sessions not cancelled within this period will be charged in full.
The cost of therapy is your own responsibility and cannot be reimbursed by your health insurer. In some cases you may be able to reclaim the VAT. Please check with your tax adviser.
